Everyone at one time or another has wanted that long beautiful hair. Some of us have achieved it while others are continually striving. So here are some tips in achieving that beautiful long hair.

  • Get your hair trimmed every 6 weeks. Your hair grows from the scalp on an average 1/2 – 1 inch every 4 weeks. Getting 1/4 -1/2 inch off will keep the ends looking good and help maintain a healthy look. If you are going to have long hair keep it looking healthy.

  • If your going to color your hair leave it to the professional. Long hair takes a lot of time when coloring. I see too many people with their many shades of blond boxed color on their hair and it doesn’t look good. Too many people leave the color on the ends to long which will cause damage as well as different shades. Your stylist has been trained to color your hair USE her for her talent.

  • Shampoo your scalp condition the ends. To many people want to wash the hair, side step the scalp and then put a glob of conditioner on the top of your head hoping it will spread all over. When shampooing put a small amount in your hands rub together and start at the scalp scrubbing then work your way down the ends. When you condition once again put a small amount in your hands rub together and start at the ends and work your way up the scalp. This way your ends get the moisture they so desperately need. Also USE good products. It is so important to spend the extra money on products that will work with your hair.

  • Lastly be patient. Work with your stylist to get you through the growing process. If your going from short to long pick out a few styles that you like that will take you to the end goal. We tend to look at media personalities for our inspiration for hair styles and wonder why they can have short hair one minute and long hair the next. Remember they have access to extensions and wigs. Long hair doesn’t happen over night. It takes patients and working with your stylist.
